Our non-profit's mission is to give local businesses and residents a place to donate their used devices. We determine what repairs are needed, repair and test, then find people in need.
All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law through our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.
About us
Connected Families Initiative was born from a desire to make a difference in the community using the founders technology background. Oftentimes careers in technology are centered around assisting other businesses be productive and secure. Rarely do you see a seasoned technology expert working in the local community with other people. Rob Knight, founder of this non-profit organization, had a desire to be hands on with the needs of people living around him; something that is not part of his full time day job.
Using his extensive 17 years of experience repairing technology through his business Knight Tech Repair, this non-profit begun to do similar work with a focus on supplying reliable technology solutions to small businesses, startups, and everyday people that have to hop from end-of-life phone to the next end-of-life phone that never quite meet their needs.
Mission statement
To server the public interest by addressing the digital divide within the community. Specifically, the Connected Families Initiative will will collect, refurbish, and certify donated technology, including but not limited to, cell phones, tablets, and computers, and make these resources available to local small businesses and families at low or no cost. Through this program, the organization seeks to provide access to essential technology for educational, professional, and personal development, thereby empowering individuals and strengthening the community as a whole.
